Welcome to our web site. My name is John Carlton. Following my retirement from the Air Force in 1991 after 24 years of service, my wife, Sharon and I relocated to San Antonio, Texas. My interest in square dancing started as a youngster in 1958 at a teen square dance club in Louisville, Kentucky. It was not until the summer of 1973 that I enrolled in a caller's school and by September of 1975 my calling career took off. Since then I have called local, state and national square dance conventions and festivals, also in several countries in Europe. Currently, I currently call for the Hill Country Promenaders of Kerrville. You can get information about these clubs from our club listing on this web site. I have taught numerous basic and mainstream classes as well as Plus and Advanced classes. I have taught two caller schools as well. I am an Accredited Callerlab member and have held office in several Callers' associations. Throughout my years of calling, I was a part of the Mason Dixon Line Quartet formed in 1985 in New Jersey. Our members were: Pete Diven, John Kephart, Ralph Trout and myself. We hope that you enjoy our web site and can come visit with us at one of our dances. We can be reached by email or phone if you are interested in arranging a calling date. Happy dancing to you all and keep smiling - for Square Dancing is FUN, FUN, FUN.
